R&D Team:
The R&D team consists of 200 people, with Companion Animal R&D currently comprising 15 to 20 team members. The department needs support for virology projects. Currently, there are 4 project leaders, typically with 4 team members for each of them. Within the department, you will be involved in virology and microbiology, focusing specifically on virology, with potential involvement in canine vaccines.
 
Responsibilities:
In the role of Biologist, you will perform laboratory work for the development of products, production processes, and techniques under the guidance of an R&D Project Leader. You will use your initiative and insight to provide input to the team on the technical aspects of the tests. Additionally, you will be able to organise and carry out your own laboratory activities. It is your responsibility to actively maintain contact and promote collaboration with other departments involved in the vaccine development process, such as BTS and ARD. Furthermore, you will support the functioning of the laboratory and participate in one or more general tasks within the department, such as GLP, SHE, technical, or laboratory coordination.
 
Your responsibilities as a Biologist include conducting research on assigned research problems, aiming to achieve a defined research objective. The work usually focuses on solving specific aspects of complex research problems, and the assigned problems typically have a short duration in terms of the required time for a solution. You will receive direction and support within this position.
 
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of experience in the laboratory.
    • Study fields: Biological sciences, genetics, molecular, bio, life sciences.
  • Successful performance requires a solid basic knowledge of the individual scientific discipline and the ability to apply fundamental principles and techniques to the assigned problems.
  • Both Dutch and English are spoken in the team, so knowledge of Dutch is not a requirement.
